Before Grain, the founders built Pane, an open-source agent workbench with more than 20,000 downloads and 1,500 active weekly users. Grain is built by two people at Dcouple.

Dcouple and the BloomText team run their businesses on Grain: pricing migrations, quote generators, interactive decks, whiteboards and pull request walkthroughs.

Every comparison and alternatives page dates its sources. Competitor prices and features are checked on the vendor's own site before publication and re-verified when the page is reassessed. Where a competitor is the better choice, the page says so.
